আমি আমার কম্পিউটার লাইফের শুরু থেকে উইন্ডোজ ব্যবহার করি।যখন প্রথম লিনাক্সের নাম শুনলাম অবাক হলাম।কি এই জিনিস?কেমন হবে?এই সব সাত সতেরো ভাবছিলাম।পরে নতুন এই জিনিস টেষ্ট করার সাহস হয় নাই। ২০১১ তে এসে এক দিন সাহস করে উবুন্টু ৯.১০ কিনে আনলাম।মনে ভয় ছিলো যে লিনাক্স ইন্সটল দিতে নাকি হার্ড ড্রাইভ এ সমস্যা হয়।অনেক ভয়ে ভয়ে বুট করলাম।গ্রাফিক্যাল ওয়ার্ক দেখে অবাক হলাম।জিনিস তো দেখি খারাপ না ।যাই হোক আল্লাহর নাম নিয়ে দিলাম ইন্সটল।ইন্সটলেশন অপশনে গিয়ে দেখি একটা মজার জিনিস আছে।এটাকে নাকি উইন্ডোজ এর সাথে একটা এ্যাপ্লিকেশন হিসাবে ব্যবহার করা যাবে।আমি তো খুশি হয়ে গেলাম।যাক হার্ড ড্রাইভ পার্টিশন দিতে হবে না।দিলাম উইন্ডোজ এর সাথে এ্যাপ্লিকেশন হিসাবে ইন্সটল।এবং আমি অরীত্র আহমেদ উবুন্টুর প্রেমে পড়ে গেলাম।
কেন?
ভালো প্রশ্ন।আমার উইন্ডোজ লাইফের সবচেয়ে বিরক্তিকর জিনিস হলো ভাইরাস এবং এর জন্য কখনো টাকা খরচ করে এন্টিভাইরাস এবং কখনো নেট প্যাকেজ খরচ করে এন্টিভাইরাস নামানো। মাঝে মাঝে গোটা উইন্ডোজ রি সেটাপ দেয়া।এবং নোড প্রোগ্রাম গুলো যেগুলো নেট থেকে ষ্ট্রিম ডাউনলোড এর মাধ্যমে সেটাপ দেয়া হয় সেগুলোর হারিয়ে যাওয়া(স্কাইপ,গুগল ক্রোম,ফেসবুক ভিডিও চ্যাট প্লাগিন)।তবে আসেন খুশির খবর শুনি

• লিনাক্সের যেকোন ডিষ্ট্রো(ডিষ্ট্রিবিউশন) ব্যবহারের সময় আপনাকে এইসব ভাইরাস নিয়ে মোটেও চিন্তা করতে হবে না।বছর শেষে এ্যান্টিভাইরাস বাবদ ২০০০-২৫০০ টাকা লাভ।

A woman who led DC police on a car chase from the White House to the Capitol suffered from post par tum depression, according to her mother.
Miriam Carey, 34, of Stamford, Conn. drove her car through a barrier at the White House, ramming a Secret Service agent onto the hood of her car, and then led police to the Capitol, according to the Associated Press (AP). Police began firing at Carey’s car after she drove into a Secret Service vehicle and escaped down Constitution Avenue, where she hit a median and was shot to death by police. Only then did they discover Carey’s infant daughter in the car, who was unharmed and placed in protective custody.
Carey’s mother, Idella Carey, told ABC News that her daughter gave birth last August, and became depressed several months later. Carey was fired from her job as a dental hygienist about a year ago, and had experienced a head injury following a fall, her employer Dr. Brian Evans told the AP. A federal law enforcement official also told the publication that based on interviews conducted with Carey’s family so far, she showed signs of “serious degradation in her mental health.”
It may take many months before more is known about what drove Carey to act as she did, and to determine whether her behavior was the result of post partum depression, as her mother suggested, or a different mental illness, or even a combination of both. Recent studies suggest that about half of all new mothers experience post partum depression after childbirth, with about 10% to 15% showing symptoms of sleep problems, apathy, and obsessive worry about their parenting skills. An even smaller percentage develop more severe conditions of post partum psychosis, which can include hallucinations, paranoia and extreme anxiety. But these are only estimates, since experts say there are few comprehensive studies on post partum depression and minimal understanding of what makes women vulnerable.

To address the knowledge gap, some scientists have recently used brain imaging to identify patterns of activity that may pinpoint new mothers who might be at greater risk of developing post partum symptoms. These scans showed that the condition may result from dulled responses in the regions that regulate empathy and emotion.
Some early investigations have also revealed potential genetic clues to the condition; Johns Hopkins researchers have connected increases in estrogen levels during pregnancy with changes in genes that regulate mood. Some women, they say, may have genetic makeups that make them more sensitive to the drop in the hormone after birth, which could make them more vulnerable to depression. Even more encouraging is the fact that these genetic changes can be detected in the blood with about 85% accuracy.

Other studies have suggested a link between geography and post partum depression; about 10% of mothers living in urban areas developed the condition compared to 6% of women in rural areas. Despite the fact that more people tend to live in smaller spaces in cities, mothers may feel less connected to a supportive network of close family and friends in these settings.
But without a more coordinated understanding of the condition, questions about whether more women should be screened — and defining the criteria for diagnosis — are still lacking. Congress recently took action on the matter, passing the Melanie Blocker-Stokes Postpartum Depression Research and Care Act, or the Mothers Act, as part of health care reform to require the National Institutes of Health to expand research into the condition and improve ways of diagnosing and treating its symptoms. The law also calls for a study into whether screening all mothers for post partum depression could lead to earlier interventions to help mothers cope better with their symptoms and potentially avoid tragic outcomes like Carey’s and Blocker-Stokes’, a Chicago mother who jumped to her death in 2001 after being hospitalized three times for post partum psychosis.

Early detection of the hormonal and genetic contributors could help the most vulnerable mothers take advantage of drug or behavior-based therapies to manage their symptoms. At the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, doctors run the country’s first stand-alone inpatient psychiatric unit for expectant and new moms with depression. The program provides 24-hour care, including stress management skills and treatment for depression, all while allowing the mothers to spend time with their babies.
Whether Carey would have benefited from such a dedicated treatment program will never be known. Her mother said that her daughter had been hospitalized for her depression, but most programs aren’t focused specifically on issues that women with post partum face.

Academy Award® winners Sandra Bullock and George C looney star in “Gravity,” a heart-pounding thriller that pulls you into the infinite and unforgiving realm of deep space. The film was directed by Oscar® nominee Alfonso Cunard (“Children of Men”). Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowloon (C looney) in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowloon completely alone—tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.

‘Besharam’ review: Ranbir Kapoor fails to impress!

‘Besharam’, Ranbir Kapoor’s latest release has a basic problem - it does not live up to its name.
When you watch Ranbir you do not expect an out and out ‘Besharam’ comedy. However you do expect some smart assery if that is what is projected in all its promos. Good performances, the Kapoor clan, and some good humour could not really create the magic that you expect from the entire crew. The young Kapoor is a teen heart throb, here he tries to be more, and doesn’t really do too well.

‘Dabbang’ was a great make of classic masala film making that came from Abhinav Kashyap, and was pulled off with élan by Salman Khan. Salman stood out in his archaic 1990s hero avatar, delivering loudmouthed-applause-inducing dialogues looking as if he spoke like this every day. Despite Ranbir’s refreshing acting skills, he falls short – probably because he looks just out of ‘Wake up Sid’ cuteness.

Humour is just spattered insufficiently and inconsistently. The parts where you end up enjoying the most are Rishi and Neetu Kapoor’s sequences, and by the end you are disappointed that they did not have as much screen time as you would have liked. It looks like Abhinav wanted to work with a plot that involved all three, but his ambitions stopped short right there. He did not bother with a plot line which was fantastical enough to accommodate all three of them sharing the screen space and make a compelling must watch blockbuster.

The story revolves around a good hearted orphan, Babli (Ranbir), who has grown up to be a car thief. He falls for the ‘beauty’ Tara Sharma (Pallavi Sharda). Rishi and Neetu play a slightly corrupt, cop couple - Chulbul and Bulbul Chautala. The movie has a predictable plot, atypical of masala flicks, using stereotypes of every kind. The love story between Babli and Tara is unconvincing. Not that you need a why and a how, but it doesn’t build up at all.

Also, one major grouse I had with the movie was that I was waiting to understand why Babli was called Besharam in the first place. By the standards of how Indian movie heroes are generally shown wooing ladies, Babli was quite a softy, giving flowers to the leading ladies mom, carrying her grocery. Apart from what you have seen in the promos, Ranbir never goes beyond pulling out socks from his pants.

The other two Kapoors are fantastic. Every time Rishi and Neetu appear on screen they manage to entertain. From the first chase sequence to the climax, the few minutes that they have, they have pulled off the chemistry that they were known for back in the 70s. Neetu Kapoor plays gutsy, stands on equal footing as Rishi, and has a good comic timing. She jibes and jokes with Rishi, who is equally cute with her whenever they are seen together. It’s like watching an old endearing couple still in love who have managed to keep the fire alive because of their romance infused in a sense of humour.

The first half of the movie is rather floppy, but the second half of the movie picks up the plot. But the climax is worth watching. Rishi, Neetu and Ranbir fight side by side; Rishi Kapoor takes the centre stage and you realise Kashyap probably made the movie only for this scene.

The music of the movie comes from Lalit Pandit who is the part of the 90s famed Jatin-Lalit duo. ‘Dil Ka Joh Haal Hai’ which is filmed near the traditional lahlahate sarso ke khet sounds like a track straight out of that decade. Another refreshing track is ‘Love ki Ghanti’ which reminds you of Kishore Kumar’s fun songs from the 60s. It has a conversation structure and sounds really fun! The title track and the other tracks, even though nothing to write home about are more or less enjoyable.

As Ranbir fan, one would not really mind the movie. But it does not make an impact as ‘Dabbang’ moment for the hero. The superstar in the making is probably is a much better actor than a masala entertainer and that’s something that he has proven in his previous movies. The filmmaker did not have a proper vision for an actor of Ranbir’s calibre and this one is certainly not the best for either of them
